Threat Matrix - East. A weather system moving through the region today will bring gusty winds, rain chances, and cooler temperatures to the region. Winds will increase this afternoon with gusts climbing upwards of mph. A cold front moving through the region late tonight into Tuesday morning will bring the chance for some showers primarily over the high terrain north and east of Phoenix. Drier, cooler weather is expected Tuesday before temperatures warm during the second half of the week.

A few areas, especially southwest Imperial County, may see gusts in excess of 40 mph…along with areas of blowing dust.
